Cries of Victims, Voice of God

by Remi DeRoo

foreword by Thomas R. Berger

edited by Bede Hubbard

For all Catholics, for all Christians, "for all who strive for justice," this book is a unique and indispensable contribution to the debate that exposes the values at work in Canadian society.

The Social Affairs Commission of Canada's Catholic bishops electrified the country with its 1983 New Year's statement, Ethical Reflections on the Economic Crisis. The bishop's call for a new, ethical approach to economic planning was promptly seconded by the major Protestant churches. Many Canadians objected to the bishops "meddling" - and so began a debate which continues today over Canada's future.
