Texts inform readers about the history of the gardens and greenhouses from the early twentieth century to the present day. Also included are a visual species index and a "what's in bloom when" calendar.

ANNE MARIE VAN NEST is an instructor at the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture. She is also a freelance writer whose articles have been published in the Toronto Star, the St. Catherine's Standard, and Canadian Gardening Magazine.
