Black History: Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas (Revised Edition) addresses significant events, movements, and individuals in the history of people of African descent. The learning resources includes chapters on early African history and civilizations; the enslavement of Africans; imperialism and colonization; oppression and resistance in Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, the United States, and Canada; African independence movements; and African Canadian and African Nova Scotian history; and ends with a chapter on Africa today.

About the Authors

ROSEMARY SADLIER is an author and the president of the Ontario Black History Society. She was instrumental in establishing Black History Month in Canada. She lives in Toronto, Ontario. 

GREG BIRKETT is a distinguished author, educator, and playwright, whose contributions span multiple facets of education and literature. As a co-author of Black History: Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas (Emond Montgomery Publications) and The Great Black North Poetry Anthology (Frontenac House Poetry), Greg has established himself as a pivotal voice in Black history and literature.
