Miramichi Magic

The mighty, magical, mythic Miramichi: the Miramichi is not simply a river, but a complex system of rivers, streams, brooks - and towns, villages, and harbours - each with a different face and mood.  The river and the people who live alongside it are the subjects of this fascinating and revealing odyssey through New Brunswick's famed Miramichi Region.  Travel with photographer CATHY CARNAHAN as she explores her homeland, from the pristine communities "upriver," to the vibrant heart of Miramichi City, to the proud fishing villages of the bay.  Most of all, CATHY CARNAHAN invites us to meet her fellow Miramichiers: the farmers, dignitaries, fishers, business owners, craftspeople, musicians and artists whose lives are as unique and varied as the Miramichi itself.
